Widdershinsdance

Widdershinsdance

This is the hub for Widdershinsdance, a very joyful magic tool for your gatherings.
Here you can find inspiration and practical “how to” information.

One simple dance can already deepen your awareness…

Widdershinsdance is the magical practice of repetitive dancesteps, fitting to a theme. This can be a celebration, opening of the circle, growth, fun, elemental balance.
But it is so much more than that. Your circlepatterns can become vibrant weavings, making a change for the better. For this you have to nurture your imaginative nature… by being in nature, dancing circles.

My name is Elvira van Bochove. Like you, I am stardust.
Ever since I can remember, nature – especially the ocean and rivers – sends me messages of our oneness. I work as a visual artist.
For two and a halve decades I have been creating and sharing widdershinsdance, to translate these messages not only into art but also motion, and to navigate the energy through it.

Over the years I dreamt up many moves for my amazing tribe Deosil Scylla, for all sorts of rituals and celebrations. They made us more aware of our bond with nature and each other and generated so much joy.

And for sure, the more we practice, the easier it gets to tune in to the sacred web.

So, why an online hub for something that flows offline?

Since the beginning of humankind we have made circles together. Circles of song, music, story sharing, meditation, ceremonie, dance…. They were always beacons in the course of life.

Today many of us are called into the circle with a feeling of urgency. We want to make a change for the better through connecting with all nature. To help the earth in a fluid way, be part of the current that heals and strengthens. Widdershinsdance is a means to do this, being transformative on multiple levels.

The purpose of this hub is to help you use your dancemagic and connect with like-minded souls. I will share instructions and video’s so you can practice, wherever you are in the world. You’ll find answers to questions like: “Where can I learn this?” or  “How can we add it to our own rituals?”.

"How can I remember all the steps and movements, and what music can we use?"

About the name: The word WIDDERSHINS means ‘counter-clockwise’,  but also ‘going in a direction other than the usual’. Which feels quit fitting to my ever ongoing path of connecting motion, nature and visualization. So I named it Widdershinsdance.

This is a freshly started website. Over the next months it will be filled with clips and information.
No need to wait though.  You can join me in a crispy off-line wednesday-morning circledance series
